I’m a writer, professor and freelancer based in Austin, TX.

You’ll find my writing in Akashic, Beneath Strange Stars, Trembling with Fear, Furious Gravity and other publications. My work spans multiple genres — including fantasy, horror and thriller — but it usually incorporates a strong woman, dark humor, and a dead body or two. I also hold an MFA in popular fiction from the Stonecoast Creative Writing Program in Maine. (Plus an MBA in marketing and an MA in literature/film. Yeah, I like school.)

A long-time pop culture nerd, I’ve worked in the film industry for many years at an art house theater and as a consultant, doing writing, PR, events, programming, strategic planning and fundraising. I’ve also presented at film conferences in the U.S. and Canada.

Currently, I’m adjunct faculty in writing at Southern Maine Community College.
